Black ministers to tackle issue of HIV/AIDS

This is the first time in a long time that black ministers are coming together to discuss a fast-growing epedimic in the black community. African American clergy have not gathered to discuss an issue since the 1960s. Although, America is only 13.5% African-American, blacks were 49% of all HIV cases in 2005, according to the Center for Disease Control(CDC). This is an issue that black pastors need to address. Fear of speaking about sex and drugs in the church is HURTING our community. We need to do something NOW!

I think this is a great article. I believe that it does hurt us to be afraid of speaking about sex and diseases in a church setting. It is great that they were able to speak about it.
